Sausage Gravy

This sausage gravy recipe is best served with warm, buttery biscuits for a delicious and satisfying southern comfort breakfast that will keep you full way past lunchtime!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb sausage
  • 2 tbsp onion diced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk or more, as needed.
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Add the onion to a skillet over medium high heat. Cook until translucent, 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the sausage, breaking it up as it cooks until completely brown.
  • Sprinkle flour over the sausage, stirring until all the flour is absorbed. Allow flour to cook about 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour the milk into the skillet. Stir until well combined.
  • Add seasonings and stir until the gravy has thickened.
  • Remove from heat and serve over warm biscuits!
