Avocado Crema (Crema de Aguacate)

Avocado crema is a smooth, creamy and delicious sauce that's perfect for empanadas, tacos, quesadillas or any Mexican-inspired dish.

Equipment

  • 1 Food processor or blender

Ingredients
  

  • 1 avocado
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise can sub with Mexican crema or sour cream
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 clove garlic crushed
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded optional
  • 1/4 tsp salt can sub with bouillon
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp water only if needed

Instructions
 

  • To a food processor or blender, add avocado, mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic, cilantro, salt or bouillon, and vinegar.
  • Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning, if desired. If it's too thick add a little water, 1 tbsp at at time until desired consistency is reached.
  • Serve and enjoy. ¡Buen provecho!

Notes

Tips:
Store avocado crema in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. This recipe makes about 1 cup of avocado crema. Double the ingredients if making a bigger batch.
