Pollo Frito en Freidora de Aire (Air Fryer Fried Chicken)

Air fryer fried chicken eliminates having to use an excessive amount of oil, making this dish much healthier. Also, it's super easy to make in the air fryer. While the chicken cooks, I prepare a side dish and vegetable and dinner is served in less than 30 minutes. Save this recipe for an easy weeknight meal everyone will enjoy!

Equipment

  • 1 Air-fryer I use the Ninja Max XL 5.5 qt

Ingredients
  

  • 6-8 chicken drumsticks skin on
  • 1 tsp adobo
  • 1 tsp sazón
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cebolla en polvo
  • 1/2 tsp ajo en polvo
  • 1/2 tsp azúcar negra
  • 1/4 tsp ground oregano
  • 1/4 tsp sal
  • 1/4 tsp pimienta negra
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tbsp corn starch
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

Instructions
 

  • Spray air fryer with avocado oil and preheat at 375℉.
  • Rinse the chicken with water and white vinegar or lemon juice. Place the chicken in a large bowl.
  • Season chicken with spices. Toss to combine.
  • Add flour and cornstarch. Toss to combine.
  • Place chicken in air fryer and cook at 375℉ for 15 minutes, flip and cook for another 15 minutes.
  • Optional: If you want crispier skin, flip the chicken again and cook at 400℉ for 5 minutes more. Check on it every minute or so to make sure it doesn't burn.
  • Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!

Notes

Tips:
Reheat leftover fried chicken in the air fryer or a preheated oven for best results. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also store the cooked chicken in a ziplock bag and freeze for up to 3 months.
