Cholula Hot + Sweet Chicken Wings (Alitas Dulces y Picantes)
These Cholula Hot and Sweet chicken wings have just the right balance of spicy and sweet with a combination of Cholula hot sauce and honey. I like to serve the chicken wings with arroz con gandules for a delicious meal or alongside other appetizers for the ultimate game day party platter.
Spray air fryer with avocado oil and preheat at 375℉.
Rinse the chicken with water and white vinegar or lemon juice. Place the chicken in a large bowl.
Season chicken with spices. Toss to combine.
Add flour and baking powder and toss to combine.
Place chicken in air fryer and cook at 375℉ for 10 minutes, shake the air fryer and cook for another 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
While the chicken cooks, make the sauce.
Sweet and Spicy Sauce
Heat butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Once the butter is melted, remove from heat.
Add the hot sauce and honey. Stir until well combined.
Once the chicken wings are fully cooked, toss them in the sauce until evenly coated.
Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
