Family Fun at Happy Day Farm in New Jersey!

Fall is here which means sweater weather, pumpkin spice everything and trips to the farm for fun apple and pumpkin picking activities! Every year I do my research on the best local farms and plan a trip for some fun fall festivities. This year my family and I visited Happy Day Farm in Manalapan, NJ. Tickets for general admission are currently $16 for adults and children ages 2 and up. I absolutely loved our experience there and I definitely want to visit again next year. Here are some of the things I loved most.

Sunflower Field

Upon our arrival, the first thing we saw was the sunflower field. The view was completely breathtaking! The sunflowers were in full bloom and standing nice and tall, despite it being a bit late in the season. I was so happy we didn’t miss them this year and were able to take some pretty amazing photos.

Sunflowers are available for picking and cost $2.50 per stem. It’s recommended to bring your own cutting shears and a bucket of water to transport your sunflowers home but cutting shears are available with a $10 refundable deposit.

Food Concessions

I was happy to see all food concessions were conveniently located near the entrance, just like the sunflower field was. They offer a nice variety of food such as pizza, cheese steaks, fries, burgers, hotdogs, chicken tenders, gyros, zeppoles, fried oreos, funnel cakes and more. We had pizza, chicken tenders and fries and everything tasted great. There’s a general store also near the entrance which sells items like honey, maple syrup and apple cider donuts. I definitely grabbed a pack of donuts ($6 for 1/2 dozen) before leaving and they were delicious!

Games and Activities

There are lots of games and activities included with your admission tickets: live animal zoo, corn maze, fun slide, hay maze, pumpkin bowling and ring toss to name a few. Visit their website for a full run down of everything they offer.

Pumpkin Patch

The pumpkin patch is the only area located on another side of the farm and requires a ride on the tractor to get there. Tractors come by their designated area quite often so there’s never a long wait. The ride takes about 3-5 minutes. The pumpkin patch is small but has cute attractions like a pumpkin house and swing which make for beautiful photo ops.

There is no admission fee to pick a pumpkin. You just pay for what you pick.
